Fancy going? Nah?
The idea of this is to show the beauty through the tv screen, where people commonly observe such scenes from. It's quite ironic. By framing footage of the north within the frame of the TV, the audience can observe what they are watching and perhaps see the insanity of always seeing such beautiful places through a screen.
If I could zoom into the screen and open the scene out to only footage of the landscape, perhaps that idea will become apparent.
If incorporating this, the audio would have to change as well, to sound as though it is coming from the speakers in the TV.
