Trip Two: Day One

Lotte Glob House

So today 21/04/13 I travelled to Laid to film at Lotte Glob’s croft for the final time.

First time round I had good footage though the clips weren’t long enough.  Also the clips I was taking were shot with an 18-55mm or 35mm lens and they were inadequate for the landscape shots I was aiming for. This time I have also brought a 10-20mm wideangle lens and a new camera which records at 25fps rather than 23.98 and allows more control over the filming.

This trip I have made a list of shots I should get and have a much better idea of what I’m looking for. The weather has not been in my favour- 45mph gusts of wind and heavy rain. Between the rain and wind there has been great sunlight – if only for 5mins at a time! – so I have been making the most of that and heading out for as long as possible in between showers.

I got some good clips of the house that will fit in with my plan to incorporate laser cut paper houses into my film. The footage and images must be roughly the same angle and distance.

Today shots of the scenery and a few sculptures on the croft were my main focus. Though little footage was taken, enough quality footage was gathered and will be used in the documentary.
