I have been trying to edit the opening of my documentary and seem to be finding it harder than I first imagined.
The music isn't fitting though I have used this as a substitute song for the time being.
The idea behind this opening is that the audience is immediately set up for the story ahead. It's about everyone though focuses on one person as an example. It's about what everyone possesses and life in general.
The initial clips with the doors will change, and many different doors will pop up for the same duration as the moment, to allow variation.. the repetition of doors doesn't work!
Also, the clips where the houses blend into each other will be more fluid and have the camera using bokeh to blend with the city, then zoom into a window to lead you to the living room section.
Basically, it's the doors of loads of annonymous people, to set up the scene and include the audience. It will land on Lotte's door and from there will introduce you to her garden/scenery. Through bokeh, this will then blend into the city scene and from that set up the scene for the tenements and bokeh through to them. It will show the city and then zoom into one of the tenement windows. By using a blend transition, the scene will blend into various living rooms, all panning right and joining together. This will be the examples of how people live. It will end in Lotte's living room.
The music for this section will be important as it is the introduction and should set up the scene of whole documentary.
I like the upbeat tune to this song, though it's inappropriate for the overall vibe I am trying to create.
