As part of my research, I decided it would be an idea to have something growing throughout the documentary as a reference point, and also, usually within film/doc, something grows. Within my narrative, the character does not grow, therefore by placing a visual representation that relates to the story (plant references... will disclose later :D) the audience can visually see the story evolve and it can be the (only?) reference point for time throughout the film.

Although I was shooting from various angles to see how it worked as a longer clip, there are a few angles I like, and also a visual metaphor.

I like the silhouetted perspective looking up at the flowers, then following the focus up to the sky. It gives the feeling of something opening, something new about to start?

Also, when shooting from behind the flowers, I like how they have been placed to look down onto the busy road. It's a rich juxtaposition, with the contrasting colours and pace of each of the elements- Static flower against busy road. I also like how the flower heads bow down as though taking pity on the frantic pace of the world below.

These are two areas I may consider adapting for inclusion within documentary. I plan to do further media tests, and may use different objects to see how it changes the scene and emotions put across.
