Chris Landreth - Ryan (2004) - Legenda PT-BR

I recently came across this documentary in a journal (Reenacting Ryan: The Fantasmatic and the Animated Documentary. Steve Fore. School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong.)

It was used as a case study and highlights many of the questions I face in my investigation.

The visuals used within the documentary are fantastic and impressive. It portrays emotions and innermost deepest feelings, intertwining interviews with various people to the inclusion of them all in the one room.

The visuals tell a wonderful story, though I do find myself questioning the reality of the story at times. I feel it may steer too far from the discourse of sobriety, into a more fictitious area. This is something I come up against when introducing poetics into my work.

So far I've only watched the doc, I will read the journal and report back!

Watch the video (only 13 mins) it's fab! Very impressive.
