A few months ago I started to notice a deterioration in my cameras performance. It was a D3100 and the shutter was sticking. It was redundant for photographs, though still worked for video.
Two weeks ago I went to the Tin Roof to finish a video i'm making on a local artist, and my camera totally died. Tragic. What's even more tragic is, I bought it from Jessops. Grrr...
As I'm a skint student at the moment, i've been saving and working on various different jobs to try and get some money. I also got awarded money from the Robert Reid fund at university, which has helped a lot.
I'm sourcing cameras, as I've fallen behind with all of my work and have not got a clue how i'll manage to catch up with all of my filming!
Cameras that are (kind of) in my price range (providing I eat beans on toast until graduation!) are; Canon EOS 60D, Nikon D5200, and Nikon D7000.
I can't decide and have to make a choice asap. The choice may be down to the cost and whatever's cheapest at the moment, as prices are starting at £590 (body only)
I will choose by end of day and hopefully have a new camera beginning next week! Fingers crossed!
And I hope I choose the right one. As long as it shoots video, I'll be fine.
