First Light were having their annual film awards in the Odeon, Leicester Square, London on the 19/03/13.. and I got invited. Woohoo!
Myself and a few others I had met in the process met up and attended the event. It was fantastic to go to an award ceremony in London and see all of the various categories and nominees... Simon Pegg and Sir Alan Parker, among others, were presenting the awards. Was great. Also watching the winners collect the awards was fantastic... Most of the winners were younger, and I could see some eyes filling up when it came to the thank you speeches!

First Light awards[/caption]First Light is an organisation that helps develop creative media skills in young people up the age of 25. They run a wide range of workshops and events to help introduce people to the industry, allowing participants to meet like minded others while learning about the TV and film industry.
I have done a few workshops in Liverpool and Newcastle with Second Light and am now working with a mentor based in Edinburgh who I got partnered with through Second Light.
Personally I have benefited greatly due to Second Light labs and the mentoring scheme. I have met a wide range of like minded people who I have kept in touch with and we all share advice and ideas regularly. We are all very driven individuals and have plans for various collaboration projects, which is all thanks to the labs (workshops).
And my shoes matched the seats in the Odeon!! :|
